So I purchased a Vita.
Yes, it had a lot to do with the PS4 announcement. Yes I have been sucking Sony’s _____ a lot lately LOL. But funny thing is, is that it had more to do with word of mouth and the whole “you gotta handle one in order to be convinced” phrase that I often say myself when addressing those that are unsure about the Wii U.
So what does one do when they haven’t played with a Vita? WELL THEY GO OUT AND BUY ONE LOL!
And that is what I did. Went to Target, grabbed the bundle with Call of Duty (I mean not my favorite, but knowing that it came with a 4GB memory card was enough for me because for those that don’t know…a memory card is basically needed to play PS Vita titles due to game saves).
But first….let me rewind a bit.
Just to let everyone know: the persuasion I had to receive in order to fathom the idea of purchasing a Vita was a great deal.
This was mainly due to my experience with the Sony PSP.

This is the PSP I bought. OF COURSE!
I remember having my PSP for a hot minute. I liked it but not enough to keep it. The games were on UMD discs which were awful, weird, and made a lot of noise. The system itself felt clunky, cheap, and the graphics weren’t very impressive.

OH MY VITA
Exhibit A: The Vita
Getting back to the more important stuff: Yeah I have a Vita now. What are my thoughts considering I thought the PSP was a sad attempt at a handheld?
I love it. Absolutely LOVE IT. It’s sleek, has two analogs, cameras, touch screen that is OLED, and the most mind blowing part of the whole system for me is: the touch pad on the back.
After having a day or two with the system, I was in the middle of playing Little Big Planet and it told me to use the touch pad on the back.

Media Molecule does no wrong. The DEFINITIVE Little Big Planet Title.
My first reaction was “huh?”. But then it started to set in and I was blown away (I’ll leave it open for surprise). Let’s just say that its nice to see a device that uses all facets of itself and it puts an interesting twist on portable gaming (for me at least in the traditional sense). Also I am really appreciating the console quality games that are now in the palm of my hand. I bought Persona 4 Golden. BEST THING EVER!
Like I said, these are just some impressions I have had so far.
Bravo Sony! Bravo!
I’ve thought about buying one to be sure, but my disposable income keeps going towards 3DS games (Damn you, Fire Emblem!). Plus, I still don’t see that one title I must have. Love COD but heard Declassified sucked major sausage. Love Marvel Vs. Capcom 3 but I like sticks. Not a huge fan of Sony exclusives (sorry Drake fans, I just don’t get it). Sooo more or less I’m content with my 3DS (ironically still play the crap out Super Street Fighter 4 3D).
